VISAS PROCEDURES
Dutch nationals wishing to travel to Algeria must first obtain an entry visa issued by the consular service of the embassy. Nationals of other nationalities are invited to contact our visa service to find out the terms and conditions applicable to them.
The visa applicant must present himself personally to collect his passport. However, he/she may appoint a third party (or a specialized company) to carry out the procedures, by establishing a power of attorney duly signed and accompanied by a copy of the principal’s identity document.
The processing time for visa applications is a minimum of 14 days. This period may, depending on the nature of the trip, be extended and does not imply the granting of the visa at the end of the period.
It should be noted that in addition to the file to be compiled (see section according to type of visa requested) additional supporting documents may be requested and that the acceptance of an application does not automatically imply the granting of a visa.
For minor children traveling alone or accompanied by one of the two parents, a travel authorization established by the holder of parental authority, and legalized with a Dutch municipality, must be attached to the application.

VISA FEES
The visa fee is fixed according to the nationality of the applicant. As an indication, Dutch citizens will have to pay:
- 100 euros for a stay of less than 90 days;
- 120 euros for a stay of more than 90 days.
It should be noted that in case of cancellation of the application or refusal of the visa, the visa costs will not be refunded.
FAMILY VISA
Documents required:
- Visa application form (to be downloaded from this link) duly completed, dated and signed (in duplicate);
- Passport with a validity of at least 6 months and a photocopy of the first page;
- Two (02) recent passport photographs;
- A travel insurance certificate (repatriation, hospitalization and medical expenses) to be requested from a specialized organization (insurance company, travel agency or bank). This certificate must be valid for the entire duration of the stay;
Please note that the following should be added:
For spouses and children of Algerian nationals registered with our services:
- A copy of the family record book or marriage certificate;
- A copy of the birth certificate (for children);
- A copy of the consular registration card of the spouse;
- A copy of the spouse’s residence permit.
For spouses and children of Algerian nationals who are not registered with our services:
- A certificate of accommodation less than three (03) months old, drawn up by a member of the applicant’s family, who undertakes to accommodate him/her and authenticated by the President of the Communal People’s Assembly of the place of residence of the inviting person;
- A copy of the family record book;
- A copy of the identity document (ID) of the guest.
TOURIST VISA
Documents required:
- Visa application form (to be downloaded from this link) duly completed, dated and signed (in duplicate);
- Passport with a validity of at least 6 months and a photocopy of the first page;
- Two (02) recent passport photographs;
- A travel insurance certificate (repatriation, hospitalization and medical expenses) to be requested from a specialized organization (insurance company, travel agency or bank). This certificate must be valid for the entire duration of the stay;
- A confirmation of hotel reservation or a certificate of accommodation (less than three (03) months old) authenticated by the President of the Communal People’s Assembly of the place of residence of the inviting person and a copy of the latter’s identity document;
- Proof of resources for the duration of the stay;
- A travel reservation or a transport ticket (outward and return);
- Document justifying the profession of the applicant (work certificate or payslip). For students, a copy of the school certificate is required.
BUSINESS VISA
Documents required:
- Visa application form (to be downloaded from this link) duly completed, dated and signed (in duplicate);
- Passport with a validity of at least 6 months and a photocopy of the first page;
- Two (02) recent passport photographs;
- A travel insurance certificate (repatriation, hospitalization and medical expenses) to be requested from a specialized organization (insurance company, travel agency or bank). This certificate must be valid for the entire duration of the stay;
- A travel reservation or a transport ticket (outward and return);
- A certificate of employment;
- A mission order or a letter of commitment from the employing organization, specifying the period and nature of the mission as well as the exact position of the visa applicant;
- Letter of invitation (signed by the authorized representative) from the Algerian partner including:
– The contact details, address, telephone and/or fax numbers and e-mail address of this partner in Algeria;
– The period of stay during which the visa applicant is taken care of;
– The purpose of the visit, nature of the mission;
– The field of activity in Algeria of the Algerian partner;
CULTURAL VISA
Documents required:
- Visa application form (to be downloaded from this link) duly completed, dated and signed (in duplicate);
- Passport with a validity of at least 6 months and a photocopy of the first page;
- Two (02) recent passport photographs;
- A travel insurance certificate (repatriation, hospitalization and medical expenses) to be requested from a specialized organization (insurance company, travel agency or bank). This certificate must be valid for the entire duration of the stay;
- A travel reservation or a transport ticket (outward and return);
- Invitation to participate in a seminar or event of a cultural, scientific or sporting nature;
- Proof of income for the duration of the stay
WORK VISA
Documents required:
- Work visa application form (to be downloaded from this link) duly completed, dated and signed (in duplicate);
- Passport with a validity of at least 6 months and photocopy of the first page;
- Two (02) recent passport photographs;
- A travel insurance certificate (repatriation, hospitalization and medical expenses) to be requested from a specialized organization (insurance company, travel agency or bank). This certificate must be valid for the entire duration of the stay;
- Employment contract, or a recruitment commitment from the employer, duly signed by the parties concerned.
- Provisional work permit issued by the competent Algerian services responsible for employment;
- Certificate approved by these same services by which the employing organization agrees to ensure the repatriation of the foreign worker upon termination of the employment contract.
PRESS VISA
Documents required:
- Press visa application form (to be downloaded from this link) duly completed, dated and signed (in duplicate);
- Passport with a validity of at least 6 months and photocopy of the first page;
- Two (02) recent passport photographs;
- A travel insurance certificate (repatriation, hospitalization and medical expenses) to be requested from a specialized organization (insurance company, travel agency or bank). This certificate must be valid for the entire duration of the stay;
- A travel reservation or a transport ticket (outward and return);
- A copy of the business card;
- A visa request, formulated by the management of the employing media organization or television channel, specifying the purpose and nature of the report;
- Detailed list of filming equipment;
